The user manual.
Everything you need to find your way around LiveLinkVault. This manual is our only support resource; individual technical support is not provided.
No matching topic. Try a shorter search, such as “alerts” or “history”.
Open your vault
- Select Create my vault on the homepage.
- Choose a user ID (a nickname) and a strong password. No real name or email is required. Read and accept the current Terms and Conditions and Privacy Notice; the acceptance box starts unchecked.
- Download and safely store your one-time recovery codes. They let you reset a forgotten password without email. Each code works once.
- Log in and paste your first YouTube channel link into My channels.
- Choose your delivery preferences under Live alerts. Adding or changing an optional email address automatically enables history-export emails. You can switch them off afterward. Live email alerts and text alerts have separate switches.
Channels & lists
Add a channel using its current YouTube @handle, a youtube.com/@handle link, its /channel/UC… link, or a public video from the channel. Older custom /c/ URLs may need the channel’s current handle.
The same channel appears only once in your account and once in the homepage showcase, even when many members follow it. The homepage shows a rotating selection. Your identity and personal lists aren’t displayed beside channels.
Select Manage lists to create groups such as Favorites, Gaming, or Weekend streams. Use Channel preferences on each card to change its list and its email/text choices. Removing a list keeps its channels in All channels. Removing a channel stops your future alerts for it; its shared history stays.
Accounts can follow up to the website’s configured channel limit. Administrators may hide channels from the homepage or pause monitoring.
Find a past livestream
Open Link history, or select Open link history on a channel card. Entries are grouped by month and year, newest first. Use the channel, title/video ID, date, and status filters to narrow the list.
Each entry includes its saved YouTube link, available title, stream date when known, latest checked visibility, and the last successful check time. If the original date is unknown, the saved date is used. Dates use the time zone in your profile.
Open link opens YouTube. Copy link copies the URL. Download history (CSV) downloads a CSV of the histories of all channels you currently follow, not just the current filtered page.
When a channel is added, accessible past livestreams are imported in batches. New uploads and known scheduled/live streams are checked periodically. Very short, hidden, deleted, or never-discovered streams can be missed. The history is a record of discovered links, not a guarantee of every stream ever broadcast.
To add a known past link, open a particular channel’s history and choose Add a past link. YouTube must confirm its channel. A link that is already unavailable cannot be verified or recovered automatically. Member-provided labels are identified separately from YouTube titles.
LiveLinkVault saves links, not videos. An unavailable video cannot be recovered or unlocked here. We must refresh or delete YouTube API data within 30 days. When a link becomes private, deleted, or otherwise unavailable, the deadline is 30 days after its last successful eligible refresh, which can be earlier than 30 days after you notice it disappeared. At the deadline the entire saved record, including its link, is deleted. Accessible public and unlisted records can remain while successfully refreshed.
Keep your own copy: My profile has a prominent Download history button, email-export status, and a list of approaching deletion deadlines. The file contains links and information, not videos, and cannot unlock private or removed videos. If an email is on file and automatic copies are enabled, we attempt a CSV email during the three days before deletion. Download manually if you need to be certain of keeping your copy. Delivery failures do not delay deletion.
What the status means
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Public | YouTube reported the video as public. |
| Unlisted | YouTube reported it as unlisted. It may still be watched through the saved link. |
| Private — confirmed | Privacy was explicitly confirmed. Viewing needs permission from the owner. |
| Deleted / removed — confirmed | Removal was explicitly confirmed. The saved link does not restore the video. |
| Unavailable — reason unknown | YouTube did not return an accessible video. This can mean private, removed, or another restriction; we do not guess. |
| Not checked yet | A link exists but no successful status check has completed. |
Visibility is separate from Live now, Scheduled, or Past stream. A failed connection does not prove a video was deleted. Check the “Last checked” time; statuses are not continuously verified in real time.
Choose your live alerts
Open Live alerts and choose email, text, or both. Then use each channel’s preferences to choose delivery methods for that channel. Both the account setting and the channel setting must be on.
Email alerts need an optional email address; we do not verify it. Only use an address you control. Adding or changing it turns on automatic pre-deletion history emails, a separate preference from live alerts. For texts, enter a number with its country code, request a one-time code, and enter that code. Then turn on text alerts and accept the separate opt-in. Verifying a number alone does not subscribe you to ongoing texts.
Text alerts depend on the website’s text service being enabled. A daily text cap limits repeated messages. Delivery can be delayed by monitoring intervals, YouTube availability, carrier filtering, or provider limits. Recent alerts show whether a message was queued or submitted; submitted does not guarantee delivery.
We send at most one alert per stream per method to eligible followers. Streams that were already live before you followed the channel do not generate a new-stream alert. Old imported streams never trigger historical alerts. Alerts older than two hours are skipped.
Turn off alerts in your account, use the stop-alerts link in an email, or reply STOP to a text. STOP disables texts; the email link lets you stop live email alerts, automatic history emails, and text alerts. To resume texts after STOP, follow your carrier/provider’s START instructions and re-enable consent in your account.
Alerts invite real people to watch. The website does not manufacture viewers, run background video playback, or promise a viewer count.
Your account
My profile shows your user ID and lets you change your profile color, time zone, password, and security settings. Your contact details and personal lists are not published. The website includes no advertising trackers, analytics scripts, or email tracking pixels. Essential sign-in/security cookies and hosting logs still exist; a nickname is not a guarantee of complete anonymity.
If you forget your password, choose account recovery on the login page and enter your user ID, an unused recovery code, and a new password. Email is not used for recovery. Without your password or an unused code, self-service recovery is unavailable. Protect your codes like passwords. You can replace them in Security; new codes invalidate the old set.
Optional two-step verification uses an authenticator app. In My profile → Security, enter your current password, scan the QR code, and confirm an authenticator code. The QR is generated by this website, not an external QR service. Keep recovery codes for a lost device. A password reset using a recovery code disables two-step verification, so set it up again afterward.
To delete your account, expand Show account deletion, enter your current password, and confirm. Your profile, contact details, lists, and alert records are removed. Shared channel histories remain. Deletion on LiveLinkVault does not delete anything on YouTube.
Quick fixes
My channel won’t add
Check the @handle and try the full channel URL. No email verification is needed. If the website says YouTube is not connected or its allowance is reached, the service must become available before the lookup can succeed. Keep the link and try later.
I don’t see all the old streams
Historical imports run in batches while monitoring is active. Private, removed, or undiscoverable streams cannot be recovered. Add an accessible known stream link from its channel’s history.
A “Public” link will not play
Its visibility may have changed since the last check. YouTube may also apply age, region, account, or other viewing restrictions. Open the direct YouTube link; the vault does not bypass them.
I’m not getting live alerts
Check your account-level alert switch, the channel’s email/text choice, and, for texts, phone verification status. Check spam or your phone’s blocked messages. Alerts only cover streams detected after you followed the channel; delivery is not instantaneous.
I see “Unavailable” instead of “Private” or “Deleted”
YouTube frequently doesn’t distinguish these cases for other people’s videos. We use the accurate unknown-reason label and keep the captured link only until its retention deadline. Download it before deletion if you want your own copy.
My text code does not work
Confirm the country code and number. Use the most recent code and avoid repeated requests. The verification provider limits attempts; wait before trying again. Text messages must be enabled by the website.
